Task Wizard: Delete

Specify the file deletion method at the time of synchronization.

"When files in one side are deleted (absent), select the action to do.":

Specify how to treat the deleted file at the time of synchronization.

1. "Do nothing."

Nothing will do; the files are remained in the other side.

2. "Delete: Delete the remained files from the other side."

If files are deleted from one side, they are deleted from another side also.
NOTE:
(1) CloudsRAID detects the deletion of files from the second time of the synchronization.
At the first time of the synchronization after you setup the task by wizard, files that exist only in one side are copied to another side in bi-direction mode, because CloudsRAID can not determine whether the absent files were deleted from one side or they were copied from somewhere.
In single-direction mode, if files are created in or copied to the target folder, it will be remained in the target folder. For keep the two folders being same, please use "4. Mirror: Delete files from the target folder if they do not exist in the source folder.....".
(2) This mode is enabled only when no rename rule is set in "Task Wizard: Rename" page.

3. "Copy: Copy absent files to the other side."

If files are absent in the one side, they will be copied back from the other side at synchronization time.

NOTE:
This mode is enabled only when the bi-direction synchronization is selected in "Task Wizard: General" page; and no rename rule is set in "Task Wizard: Rename" page.

4. "Mirror: Delete files from the target folder if they do not exist in the source folder. And overwrite the target files if they are different from the source files."

If files do not exist in the source folder, they will be deleted from the target folder. Regardless whether the files were deleted from the source folder or they are new files in the target folder.
Old files in the target folder, or files with the same timestamp but size is differnt from the source file, will be overwritten by the source files.
After synchronization, the two folders will be exactly the same.

NOTE:
This mode is enabled only when the single-direction synchronization is selected in “Task Wizard: General” page.

"Detect moved files, move these files in the other side correspondingly."

Check this option to detect whether files are moved. When files are moved in one side, move the files in another side.
This option will improve the performance of file synchronization.
If this option is not checked, file synchronization will still be performed correctly. But the action will be copying the files to the target folder, and deleting the files from the moved source folder. The performance is lower than using this option.

NOTE:
If "compress and encryption" feature is selected, CloudsRAID may no be able be detect file moving if the files are moved in the encrypted folder.

"Delete file for save space":

"Do nothing."

Nothing is carried out.

"Delete the source files.(==move)"

Check this option to delete the source file after it is copied to the target folder.
If both of the file systems are local file system, and no "compress and encryption" feature is selected, CloudsRAID move the file for performance.

"Delete the unchanged files in the target folder."

Only the changed files is copied to the target folder, and the unchanged files in the target folder are deleted. When you use small space USB drive to synchronize two folders between two PCs, this is effective.
Be careful to use this option, the unchanged files in the target files will be deleted at the next synchronization! Please backup the files in the target folder to a proper folder before the next synchronization,

NOTE:
This option is disabled if the following options are select:
1. Bi-direction synchronization is selected in the "Task Wizard: General" page.
2. Real-Time monitoring option is selected in the "Task Wizard: Schedule" page.
3. "Copy to a single folder" is checked in the  "Task Wizard: Rename" page.

"Delete files older than following days:"

Specify a day number in the edit box. Files older than the days, will be backed up to the backup folder (If you specify the backup options) and deleted.

When this option is selected, "Only delete the old files in the target directory (Time filtering options is adjusted automatically)" can be selected. If this option is selected, the files older than specified days in the target folder will be deleted, and for filtering the files correctly, "Task Wizard: Filtering" page will check "Only files changed after (in) following time (range) are synchronized", and "In the past XXX days" option, XXX is the day number set here minus 1.
